Assembly elections: Tathagata Roy questions BJP leaders for fielding ‘politically stupid’ actors

Days after the BJP did not cross double figures within the West Bengal Meeting elections, former Tripura and Meghalaya governor and senior BJP chief Tathagata Roy lashed out on the get together’s nationwide normal secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and state president Dilip Ghosh for giving tickets to movie and TV actors, who misplaced the elections.

He tweeted: “Movie and TV actors who by no means had something to do with politics, not to mention BJP, have been handed tickets by BJP’s election administration workforce. Parno Mitra, Srabanti Chatterjee, Payel Sarkar. These girls have been so politically silly that they’d gone on a steamer journey with TMC’s Madan Mitra lower than a month earlier than elections and shot selfies with him. All have been roundly defeated. What nice qualities have been these girls possessed of? Kailash Vijayvargiya, Dilip Ghosh & Co should reply.”

Whereas Tanushree misplaced from Shyampur in Howrah, Srabanti misplaced to Partha Chatterjee in Behala West seat. Sarkar did not win Behala East.

Roy added, “It should not be forgotten {that a} BJP electoral ticket carries with it substantial cash for operating the election. Or for different functions!”

Hitting again, Srabanti Chatterjee dared Roy to show she had joined the get together for cash. “If he has any proof that I joined the get together for cash then he should make it public,” she advised reporters.

BJP chief Rahul Sinha mentioned, “As a substitute of constructing such statements, he [Roy] should stand by employees who’re being attacked by TMC goons. That is the necessity of the hour. There’s nonetheless time for introspection…”
